Again, the Fulanis (Muslims) were painted as killers despite the fact that Benue militias (Christians) who crackle Fulani cattles and beat their wives and family were not featured. This is grossly unfair. Falz be supposed to retrieve a mode of balancing his video. The kidnappers of the South East (also Christians) were out of danger time the lubricate saboteurs of the Niger Delta (Christians too) were ignored. Falz capture is deceptive with Islamophobia. That videotape be supposed to be posh ‘This is not Nigeria’. It is Islam-bashing. The courts will single be concerned in legalities, judiciability and mechanics but the capture go into will gaze beyond the entire that. Is it professional? Is it balanced? Is it enormously expressive of our country? Is it morally justifiable? These are could you repeat that? will appeal the go on board and they are in mountain bike with our thinking. We go up in price artists and our goal is not to punish Falz. He is not a indolent Nigerian youth.

Doctor performs brain surgery on wrong patient

A neurosurgeon has been suspended for opening up the head of the wrong patient in one of the worst cases of medical malpractice to become public at Kenyatta National Hospital.
Two men had been wheeled into KNH unconscious last Sunday. One needed head surgery to remove a blood clot in his brain, while the other only required nursing and medication to heal a trauma swelling in his head, medically known as closed head injury.
However, a horror mix-up of identification tags saw the wrong man wheeled into theatre and his skull opened.
Doctors did not realise the mistake until hours into the surgery when they discovered there was no blood clot in the brain of the man sprawled on the operating table.
The hospital’s chief operating officer, Lily Koros, issued a statement announcing the suspension of four medics who were at work on that night.
They included the neurosurgeon, the ward nurse, theatre receiving nurse, and the anaesthetist.
“The management has suspended the admission rights of a neurosurgery registrar and issued him with a show-cause letter for apparently operating on the wrong patient,” Ms. Koros said.
In a miracle of some sort, the Nation was informed that both patients were in good condition and that the one who had a clot might not undergo surgery because he had improved significantly.
Few medical errors are as vivid and terrifying as those that involve patients who have undergone surgery on the wrong body part, undergone the incorrect procedure, or had a procedure intended for another patient.

My husband is everything I prayed for in a man — Nkechi Emmanuel aka Nurse Titi

Nollywood actress, Nkechi Emmanuel is obviously still basking in love having recently tied the knots traditionally with her British-born, Sierra-Leonian beau, Ambrose Amara. In this interview, the actress who is popular for her role as ‘ Nurse Titi’ in popular TV sitcom ‘Clinic Matters’ revealed how she met her husband, why she chose him, as well as major causes of divorce among other issues. Read on..
What should your fans expect from you this year?
We have a lot of things on ground already – a new movie project from Breaking Screen Production which is my company. We intend to shoot two good quality movies and to also work with other producers as well. I also intend to do my white wedding this year as well and it will be coming up by summer.
Your husband is into movies as well?
Yes, he’s a movie director and a script writer.
How did you both meet?
We met through work. He spoke to a friend of his (who is an actor) in America that he wants to come and shoot a movie in Nigeria and that he needs some good actresses. He explained to the friend (who happens to be my friend as well) that he’s been searching but haven’t found the kind of quality he wants. And so he (our mutual friend) recommended me to him. So we got talking on a professional level, exchanged mails and pictures and gradually one thing led to the other… and we had our traditional wedding and court wedding.
Nkechi Emmanuel (Nurse Titi)
I’m sure you had other suitors, why did you choose him?
I had other suitors, but they actually weren’t what I wanted. They’re nice guys, but I didn’t see myself spending the rest of my life with them. I chose him because I saw everything I wanted in a man in him. He’s my better half. He’s the one God has ordained for me.
What are those qualities you saw in him?
I’ve always wanted someone who would understand me and the nature of my job. Most men wouldn’t want you to continue acting after marriage, but he came and he was even more concerned about my career. He’s been supporting me and he even said he wants to write a script about me. I used to pray to God that I need a man who I wouldn’t need to explain my job to. My husband is in the industry already, so he understands everything. He is also understanding, quiet, God-fearing and puts me first in everything he does. He even prays for me before praying for himself… Those are the qualities I like about him.
Are you saying marriage isn’t going to affect your acting career in any way?
Not at all. I don’t see it coming. It’s even going to multiply my progress, because hopefully most of the movies he’s going to be directing, I will be involved. So. it’s going to boost my career.
What was your first time on set like?
I was nervous and scared, but I was sure of what I wanted and with time the fear vanished.
How would you rate your progress as an actor?
I will say God has been good. It hasn’t been easy, but God has been faithful. I thank God that I kept striving. I’m happy for where I am now, even though I’m not yet where I want to be, but I’m definitely not where I used to be.
You’ve come to be popular especially for your role as ‘Nurse Titi’ in ‘Clinic Matters’. How do you handle the stardom?
It hasn’t been easy because personally, I love to live a simple life. I’m not the loud, flashy type. I love to jump on a bike or ‘Keke NAPEP’… Mix up with people and all. But when I’m all alone in my car with glasses all wound up listening to the radio, it’s really boring. I love to eat roasted plantain and groundnuts, I love to drink ‘garri’ and all the local food. But one can’t be seen doing all of this because of the way people think. They will just assume you’ve gone broke, they won’t understand that it’s what you want at that moment. So you have to keep ‘packaging’ yourself because you can’t explain to every single person that this is what you want. Though sometimes I just brave it and then go to Shitta to get my hot ‘Amala’. And there will always be one or two persons who would want to take pictures with you.
How would you rate the Nigerian movie industry?
We are trying, at least we’re among the top five in the world, though we need more alliances. When we watch Hollywood movies, we see about four or five top production houses coming together to produce something. But here everyone wants to be independent and that’s how we make mistakes. My husband and I will be working with some companies on a movie soon. When production houses come together to produce a single movie, you can be sure that it will be a hit. We’re also hoping to do some international collaborations as well. We also need to develop our scripts and story-lines because that’s the foundation for a good movie.

Tech 'Black Panther' shatters box office records, scores a huge $218 million Presidents' Day weekend (DIS)

"Black Panther" earned the best-ever opening weekend at the box office ever for February with $192 million over three days and $218.2 million over the four-day Presidents' Day weekend.
It's also the fifth-best opening ever for a three-day and four-day opening weekend, beating out 2015's "Avengers:Age of Ultron."
It looks like everyone took a trip to Wakanda this weekend.
Marvel's long-awaited release of "Black Panther" opened over the weekend and exceeded all domestic box office industry projections. It took in an estimated $192 million over three days and is looking to make $218.2 million by the end of Presidents' Day, according to boxofficepro.com.
That shattered the all-time February opening weekend held by "Deadpool" in 2016 ($132.4 million) and its four-day Presidents' Day holiday earning ($152 million).
The $192 million three-day take is the fifth-best ever, passing "Avengers: Age of Ultron" ($191.2 million). For a four-day opening, the movie is fifth-best all-time, knocking out "Age of Ultron ($204.4 million).
Playing on just over 4,000 screens, Disney gave "Black Panther" the "Star Wars" treatment in regards to blanketing the country with its latest release.
After its Thursday preview screenings took in $25.2 million — the best-ever for February and second-best out of the Marvel franchise — the movie earned an astounding $75.8 million on Friday — the eighth-best Friday opening ever (passing 2012's "The Dark Knight Rises," $75.7 million). Earning around $68 million on Saturday proved that "Black Panther" wasn't front-loaded.
Basically the movie industry got a taste of a summer blockbuster in February, a rarity but something that the movie theaters are ecstatic about.
Not even Disney expected this kind of event feel that the movie has had on the country.
From its record-breaking pre-ticket sales months leading up to this weekend and the critical reaction to the movie (97% on Rotten Tomatoes), director Ryan Coogler ("Creed") has brought to the screen a movie that isn't just a money-maker, but an important cultural moment as it gave the black community a long-awaited superhero movie they can call their own.
And telling diverse stories won't end here for Disney.
On March 9, they will be releasing "A Wrinkle in Time," the adaptation of the popular sci-fi novel by Madeleine L'Engle directed by Ava DuVernay ("Selma")

BBC launches Igbo, Yoruba language services in Nigeria

The BBC this week launches its new Igbo and Yoruba services in Nigeria, as part of an expansion in local languages aimed at more in-depth reporting of countries around the world.
The digital-only services go live online and on social media on Monday, joining a platform for Pidgin speakers that was launched last year and has attracted widespread interest.
All three are among 12 new language services set up across the world with the help of £291 million ($408 million, 327 million euros) British government funding.
Peter Okwoche, in charge of editorial for the launch, described Yoruba and Igbo as “the two final cogs in the wheel for the new services in West Africa” and said they were much needed.
“What we feel is that original journalism in a local language travels even further than in English,” he told AFP in an interview.
“We’re big on the African narrative, the Nigerian narrative. It’s time for people to try to tell their own stories.”
– Ethnic tension –
Young Nigerians increasingly live life online, with social media hugely popular in the country, which has about 150 million mobile phone subscriptions among its population of nearly 190 million.
Nearly two-thirds (62 percent) of the population is aged under 24, giving it one of the youngest demographics in the world.
Okwoche said they were the corporation’s target audience, along with the business-savvy men and women for which the Igbo and Yoruba communities are noted both at home and abroad.
“All we ever get to hear from Nigeria these days is Boko Haram in the northeast. As serious as that story is, it’s happening in one particular part of the country,” he said.
“But there’s so much more happening. Here in Lagos, for instance, there’s technology stories, business and young entrepreneurs, the hustle of the street…
“We never get to see that.”
The launch comes at a time of renewed tensions

Report of his death began to circulate on social media over the weekend claiming the “Rocky” star had died after battling prostate cancer.
Bewildered Twitter users began to immediately ask if the actor had really died or if he was just the victim of another cruel joke.
This isn’t the first time Stallone has been the subject of a death hoax.
A UK-based news site had circulated rumours of his death back in 2016, prompting Stallone to upload a photo of himself with Russian boxer Sergey Kovalev on Instagram.
The same site had previously claimed the likes of Vin Diesel, Jaden Smith, Angelina Jolie, Nicolas Cage, Jim Carrey and John Cena had all died.
This time around, the rumour returned claiming Stallone had died from prostate cancer.
RIP messages were being shared by his fans, with many questioning the validity of the claims.
His last post was made Sunday to promote his new film “Creed II.”
